Davao Bloggers Party 2008
Last June 14 Mishel (Blog Ni Mishel) and I went to the Davao Bloggers Party 2008 at Toto’s Bar in Ilustre.
Truth be told, the time when I got the invite, I immediately decided not to go to the party. I didn’t even bother to read the details anymore. Why? 1) I’m just a new blogger with a blog that’s barely 3 months old 2) I haven’t had the time to do any virtual socializing with any dabaweño bloggers before so it means I won’t know anyone who’ll be there, and 3) content wise my blog has… pffft!!! You know what I mean. Combine these 3 reasons and what do I have? In the immortalized words of Happy Slip’s father - “DISASTER!”
Mishel talked me into attending telling me that it would be a good opportunity to meet other Davao bloggers. She was yapping on about the benefits from attending the party and I pretended I was interested. What caught my attention however was when she said, “There’s going to be free drinks and other cocktails.” No sane person would want to pass up a freebie so I signed up granted that she would go with me.
The day/ night of the party arrived, lo and behold, food and drinks galore! Hmm.. sounds as if I’m really actually there just for the freebies… Well, the truth is, I am not. I attended the party to meet other Davao bloggers and somehow learn from their “blogging ways” being that I’m new to the blogging world and all. Unfortunately, the introvert in me kicked in rendering me disabled, unable to socialize with other people and apparently the same thing happened to Mishel.
However, everything was not for naught. We were able to eat a lot of the goodies provided to us by the sponsors… no what I meant was everything was not for naught because somehow there were a few who initiated conversations with us - though it really did not last long due to our (me & Mishel) lack of conversational skills. I even got tongue-tied when I was promoting my blog… sheesh!

The night ended with everyone having prizes. I was able to get a “fast mouse” and Mishel got a Dota Strategy shirt. Perhaps next time I attend something like this, I’ll leave introverted Gigoy at home and bring my tongue along with me. Thanks to everyone who attended and thank you for bearing with our silence. hehe ^_^

oh c’mon.. no one’s blog is pfffffft-like.. well, at least not yours. we all have something to offer to every blogger out there.. ayt? don’t be so hard on yourself.. hehe the blogging world wouldn’t be as fun without you in it!!!
we can always work on something more noteworthy, if you like.. like, say.. a certain unsuccessful, meat wrapped in pita bread, temporary endeavor undertaken to create a product?
