Night Out With Friends
Other than the Double Celebration, I haven’t been out with friends/ classmates to celebrate. Last Saturday however, a few friends gave an invite to hang out. And given that I had the time and a so-so amount of money, I went.
We agreed to meet at 8pm so I started preparing around 7. One thing I forgot about these people though is that they were actually in a totally different Time Zone. I’m not quite sure but I think they’re on GMT -01:00. When they say it’s 8pm, it’s actually 9pm GMT (Gigoy Mean Time). So I was all ready an hour before the agreed time.

We all met up at Torres. Supposedly we were to go to Jikong’s but as expected, it was fully packed given that it’s a Saturday night. Fortunately, Ocon has tried out this place just a few meters from Jikong’s - I think it was called Pista Lokal. He had a lot of great things to say about the place so we decided to stay there.
There are only three criteria that I look at whether I liked a place or not: ice cold beer, a smoking area, and music. The first two criteria each got a check on my list and the music part got its check during the later part of the night. I was a bit disappointed in the first set of the acoustic band when they played one of my favorite songs “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz. The vocalist just can’t seem to hit the right notes which made me want to go up the stage, take the mic away from him, and sing the song myself. Mind you, I haven’t drank any beer yet during this time which means I’m pretty sure what was still going through my head. Anyway, the vocalist was able to redeem himself with the songs that followed. One more nice thing I could say about the place is that their food is great. I just can’t get enough of their spicy chicken.
When the beer stated pouring in, so did the conversations and laughter. From Ocon’s rendition of “Spice spice burger” to the more serious talks about the future, everyone just seemed to have a blast.
All in all, the night ended well. We all have had our fill of laughter and catching up. Anyway, thanks to all of you for the wonderful night and hope we can go out again some time~♫
