Jai Guru Deva Om

With no plans for the day I decided to watch the movie Across The Universe. I actually had no idea what the film was all about. It’s just that it was mentioned to me a while back and I happen to remember the title yesterday.

"Is there anybody going to listen to my story, all about the girl who came to stay?" When this very first line was delivered by the lead actor, my interest-meter just went full scale, "Syet… Bitols…" And when the second Beatles song was played, I just knew that I was going to love this movie.

Well, the story was… uhm… nice. Boy meets girl, fell in love, things got complicated, resolution, boy ends up with girl. I didn’t want it to sound bad but it’s just that I think I was more into the music than the movie itself. I just loved how the Beatles songs were interpreted and incorporated in the movie.

Right after watching the movie, I just got this sudden itch to play the piano. I used to play those songs when my father bought this Beatles song book. So I went to the living room and started pressing on those white and black keys on the piano and played all the Beatles songs that my ears and clumsy fingers could remember.

For those who haven’t watched this movie, I suggest that you do whether you are a Beatles fan or not. Just imagine Moulin Rouge combined with The Science of Sleep topped off with songs from the Beatles~♫♪♫♪♪♫

i’m sory lazy goy (and other fans of “across the universe)..but i think the movie sucks! i mean, for a movie, it was really bad and you shouldn’t loosely compare it to the “science of sleep” — at least that one had substance. =(

perhaps “across the universe” would generate more rave reviews as a “music video collection” than as an actual movie..and what’s with Lucy’s voice?! she sometimes sounded like a guy when she sang..hehe ^_^
